Seeds of Wisdom: What Has Been Growing Is Now Visible

Seeds of Wisdom: What Has Been Growing Is Now Visible

June 18, 20264 min read

The hills are alive! Vermont is in full bloom and full green at this apex moment of the year.

Happy Summer Solstice!

All that has been forming and stirring beneath the surface is now visible and bursting forth.

Seeing everything all at once is simultaneously enlivening and distracting.

My energy tends to ebb and flow with the length of the day and I easily lose track of the time on these extended summer days. I feel like my honey bees jumping from one flower to the next in an attempt to gather as much pollen as possible.

In the garden, I often feel pulled from one thing to another and sometimes leave feeling like I didn’t finish anything. In my business, I tend to bounce from one thing to another, leaving too many unfinished tasks on my desk each evening.

But the Solstice has a way of reminding me that not all growth is measured by what got checked off the list today. Some growth is revealed through what has been consistently tended over time.

Visible Momentum Is Not an Accident

The tending of what was below the surface through the winter, and being patient with the tender sprouts of spring brought big rewards.

I am home from a whirlwind seven days in which I presented at three different conferences and events in three different New England states. Two workshops at the American Society of Dowsing Conference in Maine, three workshops at the AmeriCorps Conference in Vermont, and a workshop at the eWomenNetwork chapter in Rhode Island.

This didn’t happen by accident.

It is the direct result of years spent cultivating relationships, refining my message, saying yes to aligned opportunities, and staying true to my vision.

That kind of visible momentum comes from a simple but powerful pattern:

· Envisioning it clearly in your mind

· Feeling it fully in your body

· Speaking it aloud to other committed partners and

· Acting consistently in accordance with the vision

The Deeper Roots Held

As I turned another year wiser at the start of June, I found myself reflecting on the complexity and abundance of life in a deeper way. My mother’s passing in April changed the texture of this season. It brought grief, perspective, tenderness, and a sharper awareness of time. It also deepened my ability to hold complexity: loss and growth, absence and momentum, endings and new visibility.

I took much-needed time away from my business, but I did not lose the ground I had cultivated. The deeper roots held.

Many moons ago, I envisioned myself as a highly sought-after speaker.

Since then, I have continually embodied it, shared my vision with others, and acted consistently by building a vast network that regularly invites me to speak. That momentum was not lost when I needed to step back for a bit.

What Is Still Aligned?

Once the light reveals what has grown, the next question is not simply, “Do I want more of this?” The better question is, “Is this aligned with the design of my business?”

This is the deeper power of the Summer Solstice. It does not simply show us what has grown. It invites us to discern whether what has grown is still aligned.

The sunshine reveals what we paid attention to throughout the quieter months. The broad daylight highlights what we nurture without judgment.

If you like what you are seeing, keep doing more of that.

If your business is either too barren or too full of weeds, now is your moment to practice your discernment.

Continue to nurture what is thriving and aligned. Then take a closer look at the design underneath it.

Use the S.E.E.D. Code™ to See Beneath the Surface

This is the power of the S.E.E.D. Code™!

Consider the Shape and Essence of your business as you direct your discerning eyes toward what has grown. Does something need to be pruned, transplanted, or split up to help it thrive even more? Is there a program or offer that is getting crowded out by invasive distractions?

Your Shape will help you realign your programs around your personal style. Your Essence reminds you to hold fast to the integrity of what differentiates you from all the others in your space.

Revisit your Entry Point. Is the pathway to your signature offer clear? Or are there too many distractions or off-ramps?

Realign with the Season

The Summer Solstice is a perfect time to make mid-point adjustments. You are not the same person you were in January. At the very least you are six months wiser. Maybe you also experienced an unexpected loss. Or maybe new opportunities manifested sooner than you imagined.

How can you tap into the intense solar energy of the Solstice?

Where will some extra light help you see more clearly?

Make the shifts that reflect who you are today, what you now know, and what you want to be visible by the end of the year.

Gratefully,
